I'll spare the readers the long story. The short story is that my wife took my RAZR and I took the iPhone. I do feel like dishing out an interview to the audience:
How do I feel?
- Normal. Perhaps that's because it has been 3 weeks since I first got it.
How did I feel on Day 1?
- Surprised! Surprised with the fact that what Apple claims on its various ads, indeed is how the iPhone works.
Did I feel being on top of the world?
- Naah... I'd reserve those for
- the day my Std X results were out,
- the day my Std XII results were out,
- the day I got my 1st job at TISL (now IBM India), and
- the day a girl said "yes" to marrying me
Back to iPhone, what does it do that is life-changing for me?
- Gives me snob value, similar to the experience of owning a Mercedes (forget the repairs)
- Gives me phone features that I can actually use, OR at least feel like using.. Internet is just one of them.
What about some of the experts complaining about the inadequacies of the phone?
- They do have a valid point (esp. absence of high speed 3G network)
- Those inadequacies don't prevent me from buying an iPhone.
So what influenced me to buy an iPhone?
- The fact that my wife lost... yet another RAZR
- The fact that she was willing to settle for... nothing short of a RAZR
- The fact that a new RAZR would cost me $150 anyway
- The fact that an iPhone would cost me $500
- The fact that when Apple promises a feature, the feature does end up being a usable one
- Numerous video reviews posted on Google video. Unfortunately, I couldn't retrace the link to that one review which finally helped me go for iPhone. It was by a guy named "xavier".
Which feature in the iPhone do I like the most?
- The Internet
On my shopping list, what is the next item that an average soul would consider a luxury?
- Hmm.. difficult to say. A kid?!?!
