Stroll # 7: Sa Re Ga Ma P(lV)a za

This is likely my last post on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2007, and it's going to be dedicated to Amanat, the # 1 singer in my opinion. In two earlier posts, I covered 5-6 of my favorite songs of his. I cover the remainder here - 11 of these sorted in no particular order. In case you want those beyond my preferred list, you can find them in the following fan site -> Link

---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ----------

Tujhse Naraaz Nahi

What to watch out for: His near playback singer quality.

---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ----------

Mitwaa

What to watch out for: First, you'll have to ignore the variances from the original song, and just recognize them as a gap between live performance and recording in a studio. Second, watch out for the key parts of the song that are high-pitched. More specifically, at around the 5th minute of the song, it would appear as though a bird flying over the ocean just touched the ocean floor and took off to the sky again.

Albela Sajan

What to watch out for: As Shekhar puts it correctly, you get the feeling of being at a concert. Also, full credit to Ismail Durbar's composition, esp. with the 2nd half of the song.

---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ----------

Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna

What to watch out for: The slowness of the song, the twists and turns in the tunes brought about in the classical version of the song, as opposed to the Kishore Kumar one that most of us are familiar with.

---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ----------

Ajab Si

What to watch out for: The feeling that you are watching a movie rather than a music contest.

---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ----------

Rasm-e-ulfat (This song almost led him to be voted out of the competition)

What to watch out for: A well sung ghazal.

---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ----------

Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho

What to watch out for: The violins.

---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ----------

Ek Haseena Thi

What to watch out for: The resemblance to the original song.

---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ----------

Kabhi To Nazar Milaao

What to watch out for: His change of style to get closer to that of Adnan Sami.

---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ----------

Pretty Woman

What to watch out for: The feeling of getting out of your chair and hitting the dance floor (or street)

---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ---------- X ----------

You are my Sonia

What to watch out for: The feeling of being on the dance floor
